Collage Screenprints
2025
Brian Clarke’s Collage Screenprints is a series of prints produced in collaboration with HENI Editions and based on works from Clarke’s Collages series. Conceived and completed between 2022 and 2025, Clarke’s Collages series reflects the artist's lifelong dedication to the observation of nature and his desire to renew his connection with it in the final years of his life. In these works, he turned to the intimate format of collage to capture the natural world around him, working with only black card as a support, white pencil and hand-coloured sheets of paper, in which he cut out his collage elements using “scissors as a pencil”. HENI Editions is releasing the Collage Screenprints as a series of editions based on works from this series.
In November 2025, HENI announced the first release of limited-edition silkscreen prints, Nocturne in Blue. Based on a 2024 work from the Collages series, the composition features a vibrant blue vase from which expressive pink flowers and verdant green leaves emerge, the liveliness of their forms emphasised by the visible fluidity of the paint.
A second release of 12 limited-edition silkscreen prints based on Clarke's Collages series was issued by HENI in July 2026. Featuring a variety of compositions of garden flowers and vases filled with elegantly arranged blooming buds, these expressive floral forms highlight Brian's mastery of the collage technique and his finely tuned chromatic sensitivity.
The Collage Screenprints reproduce Clarke’s characteristic paintwork and collage technique in silkscreen print with gloss varnish on Somerset Satin White cotton paper.
The remaining prints are planned for release over the next few years.
