‘Opal Screen I & II’ are autonomous glass artworks, undertaken in opal glass. First manufactured in sixteenth-century Venice, this historic material is made by adding opacifiers to the molten glass, which scatter light and produce secondary colours, resembling the gemstone.

Consisting of two stained glass screens, these works were commissioned by the Sezon Museum of Modern Art in 1987, and installed at the Seibu Forum in Tokyo.
