The exhibition Brian Clarke: Summer Solstice Spitfires opened in June 2016 at HENI Gallery, London, with 50 previously unseen stained glass works by Brian Clarke. In the press release for the exhibition, HENI writes:

‘The Spitfires are suspended before cloud shapes that are constant throughout the series, but the arrangement of coloured planes within those clouds is unique to each. Clarke considers this work to be the ultimate expression of an artistic enquiry, which has included drawing, painting and sculpture.’
