In 2011, the New York branch of Pace Gallery presented a group exhibition titled Burning, Bright: A Short History of the Light Bulb, featuring the works of several influential artists who explored the theme of the incandescent light bulb in their art. Among the exhibited works was a contribution by Brian Clarke, who has explored the subject in a series of oil paintings and works on paper.
