In 1988, the Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt hosted an exhibition titled Architecture of the Synagogue, featuring the works of Brian Clarke and German architect Alfred Jacoby. Known for his work in post-war Germany on synagogues and modern Jewish religious buildings, Jacoby had previously worked with Clarke on the redesign of the Holocaust Memorial Synagogue (Neue Synagoge) in Darmstadt.
