The 45th Venice Biennale was a highly anticipated international exhibition of contemporary art. Among the various exhibitions, Architecture and Sacred Space in Modernity constituted a major highlight. Housed in the ancient granaries of Giudecca, the exhibition intended to present recent experiences of religious spaces in the context of the three monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The exhibition included three sections, Sacred Space in History, Sacred Space and Modernity and Sacred Space Today.
