In 2011, Brian Clarke created a four-part portrait of his friend, the architect Zaha Hadid, which was published in Abitare magazine’s Being Zaha issue. Depicting Hadid in white pencil on the right-hand side of the composition, the work also integrates silhouettes of Hadid’s projects, collaged elements and calligraphic lines.

Clarke explained:

"Silhouettes and plans of some of her projects and furniture make up the forms along the lower part of the composition – the Ski Jump, the Aqua Table, and others."
