In 2017, Brian Clarke was commissioned to create illustrations for the children’s book Planet Egg by Jonathan Waxman. Clarke designed the illustrations as collages on card. These draw on diverse imagery, including photographs of famous architectural landmarks, figures and monstrous creatures from medieval stained glass windows and paintings, as well as cosmic elements.

Jonathan Waxman is a Professor of Oncology at Hammersmith Hospital and the author of around 300 research papers and chapters, eleven books on cancer, as well as a novel and a book on law.
