Tributes is a series of large-scale autonomous stained glass artworks created by Brian Clarke between 2022 and 2023. Drawing on motifs from the natural world, including flowers, foliage and dragonflies, the works translate compositions from Clarke’s Collages series of the same period into the medium of stained glass.

Each work measures 230 × 156 cm and is set within a metal frame that enables it to be displayed as a free-standing object. With the exception of Antipater (The Ethicist), the works were assembled using an innovative stained glass technique that dispenses with lead cames, allowing the glass panels to be joined without traditional structural support.
