Rose Fleurs de Lys
Rose Fleurs de Lys
2003
Rose Fleurs de Lys is a series of autonomous stained glass works created by Brian Clarke in 2003. The pieces explore the French heraldic symbol of the fleur de lys through calligraphic lead lines glazed in white and rose-coloured glass.
Clarke's investigations of the medieval fleur de lys symbol was extended in the same year in his abstract "portraits", the Grisaille Fleurs de Lys.
