Tivoli is a series of paintings produced by Brian Clarke in 1986 while he was living in Rome. The series takes its title from the town of Tivoli, a historic Italian town in the Lazio region, located approximately 30 km northeast of Rome. The works in the series feature some of Clarke’s recurring motifs, including computergram elements, architectural references and crosses.
