Brian Clarke produced his Rome Paintings series in 1982 while living between Rome and Düsseldorf. The large-scale works in this series feature compositions of Clarke’s signature computergram motifs and were first shown in the inaugural exhibition of the Robert Fraser Gallery in London in 1983.
