Restoration of Church St. Andrew Windows
Restoration of Church St. Andrew Windows
1975
In 1975, Brian Clarke was commissioned to undertake restoration work on the medieval windows of the Church of St. Andrew in Leyland, Lancashire, a Grade II listed building designated on 26 July 1951.
For this project, Clarke repurposed fragments of the original windows, transforming their figurative elements into medallions.
