St. John the Evangelist
St. John the Evangelist
1973
In 1973, Brian Clarke created four stained glass door panels for the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Accrington. The colourful panels were made in memory of two former headteachers of a nearby school: Mr. Harry Place and Miss Grace Salthouse.
In addition to these, two further panels were etched in clear glass, featuring the symbols of a rooster and a chalice with a serpent. These refer to St. Peter and St. John the Evangelist respectively.
