1994
In 1994, Brian Clarke developed a design proposal for the interiors of the two-storey centrepiece building within the then under-construction Quartier 206 complex. Quartier 206, together with Quartiers 205 and 207, forms the Friedrichstadt Passagen, an interconnected three-block development commissioned by Jagdfeld Friedrichstadt Passagen and aimed at revitalising Friedrichstraße, Berlin’s historic main shopping street.
Although Clarke's proposal remains unrealised, it survives through a model, designs on paper and sample mosaic panels. It included flooring featuring blue grid motifs, stained glass panels with amorphs for the central star-shaped skylight, blue mosaic-clad balustrades and stained glass windows above each entrance door.
