Private Residence Window
Private Residence Window
1984
In 1984, Brian Clarke designed two slim side windows for the entrance of a private London residence. They feature grid motifs on green and white grounds respectively, combining computergram elements with free, calligraphic lead lines.
The work was later altered to accommodate expanded glass panels on both sides of the door and above it. The initial windows were incorporated into larger clear-glass compositions, where grid structures are disrupted by calligraphic lines. A rhomboidal glass detail was also integrated into the door.
