Lytham Methodist Church
1974
In 1974, Brian Clarke was commissioned to create a replacement window for the Methodist Church in Lytham St. Anne's. He designed a stained glass work composed of three distinct sections.
In creating the window panels, Clarke employed various techniques, including the use of a badger brush to apply paint to the portrait areas. Through whisking brushstrokes, he achieved textured surfaces by removing layers of paint. The painted glass was then fired in a kiln, permanently fusing the pigment to the surface.
