Kalidria Hotel & Thalasso Spa
2001
In 2001, Brian Clarke completed a stained glass commission for the Kalidria Hotel & Thalasso Spa, a luxury resort in Castellaneta Marina, Puglia, Italy, designed by architect Emilio Ambasz.
The project included an arched installation of stained glass panels featuring enlarged waterlily leaf motifs for the hotel entrance, as well as a skylight in the restaurant area displaying a vegetal design in shades of purple on a blue background.
This project represents Clarke’s second intervention in the hospitality sector of the Puglia region, following his 1996 commission for the Valentino Village, which is part of the Ethra Reserve complex together with the Kalidria Hotel & Thalasso Spa.
