Computergram Paintings

1980 - 1983

Between 1980 and 1983, Brian Clarke began to explore his ‘computergram’ geometric motifs, based on the light-metering computer grams from Olympus OM System cameras. The ‘Computergram Paintings’ build on Clarke’s first use of these geometric blocks and shapes in his paintings and stained glass for the Olympus European Headquarters in Hamburg in 1980 to 1981, and his screenprints for Olympus Optical, undertaken between 1980 and 1982.
